Terms of service
Last updated 29 July 2026. Short, because the deal is simple.
1. What Scope is
Scope is a lead-capture and quoting service for trades businesses: a website widget and capture link, missed-call text-back (Call Catch), email lead capture (Mail Catch), a lead inbox, and quoting tools. It is sold to businesses, not consumers.
2. Your account
You must give accurate details and keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account and for having the right to contact the people who send you enquiries.
3. The trial and the price
Every account starts with a 14-day free trial of the full product, no card needed. After the trial the service costs £29 per month (or £15 per month for life for the first 50 subscribers, while they remain continuously subscribed). The only optional extras are additional team logins at £5 per person per month and, if you deliberately switch it on in Settings, SMS beyond the fair-use allowance at 10p per message (off by default: sending simply stops at the cap). Prices are in GBP; any applicable VAT is shown at checkout. Billing is monthly in advance through Stripe.
4. Cancelling
Cancel any time from the Billing page, effective at the end of the paid period. No notice periods, no cancellation calls. When your subscription or trial ends, your account pauses: capture stops working, but your data stays exportable.
5. Your data is yours
Leads, quotes, photos, and customer details you collect through Scope belong to you. We process them only to run the service, as described in the privacy policy. We never resell leads. You can export your data at any time, including after cancelling.
6. Fair use
Two-way SMS includes 300 messages a month per account. Automated capture texts do not count against this. If your usage is repeatedly far above fair use we will talk to you about it before anything is restricted. No spam: SMS and email through Scope may only be used to respond to people who contacted you.
7. Acceptable use
No unlawful content, no harassment, no sending marketing to people who have not asked for it, no attempting to break or overload the service. We can suspend accounts that put other members or the service at risk, and we will tell you why.
8. Service expectations
Scope is run by one person who cares about uptime, but we do not promise a specific availability level and there is no formal SLA. We take backups, we monitor errors, and we tell members honestly when something breaks. The service is provided "as is" to the extent the law allows.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the fees you paid us in that period, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect losses such as lost profits. You are responsible for the quotes you send and the work you do; Scope is a tool, not a party to your contracts with your customers.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; if a change meaningfully affects you we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Scope after that, the new terms apply.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
